The Sartors
Brett and Raquell Sartor bring together over four decades of combined experience in education, leadership, ministry, and technical innovation, all rooted in a deep commitment to serving others with excellence, humility, and faith.
Brett is a gifted problem-solver and servant leader with a rare blend of technical expertise and heart for people. With more than 15 years of experience in building automation systems, analytics, and remote diagnostics, he has helped optimize building operations and energy efficiency projects across Texas. Known for his reliability, innovation, and calm under pressure, Brett leads by example, often the first to arrive and the last to leave. For over two decades, he has also served faithfully in youth and church ministries, running sound, supporting behind the scenes, and creating spaces where others can grow. Recently ordained by his local church, Brett continues to live out his calling through acts of service and a heart that seeks to uplift and support others wherever he’s planted.
Raquell brings over 20 years of experience in education, leadership, and ministry, with a heart for helping children and families grow into their full, God-given potential.
From the classroom to the executive level, she has helped launch and lead a top-rated charter school known for its joyful and rigorous culture. Outside of education, Raquell has poured into young people through youth and children’s ministries, using her gifts to guide, uplift, and encourage the next generation. Whether in a school or a sanctuary, her purpose remains the same: to help others grow, thrive, and shine.
Why Nakuru?
Our hearts have always been open to love people and go wherever God leads. Over the years, that willingness has been confirmed again and again in the most personal and powerful ways, making it clear that Nakuru, Kenya, is where we’re called to serve.
About twelve years ago, a woman spoke a prophetic word over us, saying that God had shown her we would one day be in a distant country doing missions work, but our work would not be like traditional missionaries.
Three years after that, we were playing the piano and drums for a prayer service when another woman had a vision. She saw children playing under the piano that we had helped raise and love as our own. She described them growing into thriving, successful adults who would go on to help others. She said these children knew we loved them just as deeply as the children we would have by birth. Then she added something we didn’t expect: the children she saw were from Africa.
That word lingered in our hearts, and in 2018, we took a medical missions trip to Kenya. The moment we stepped off the plane, we felt the presence of God so strongly that we knew we would be back.
When we began taking steps to start Sartor Hope Hive, others suggested different countries, even questioning, “Why Kenya?” But in one of those conversations, while someone was describing another location, a friend saw an angel appear in the room carrying a flag. After doing a little research, she discovered it was a Kenyan flag. That moment confirmed what we already felt deep in our spirits: Kenya is where we are meant to go.
In 2024, we took a leap of faith and Raquell told her leadership she was stepping back from her position at the school to work on Sartor Hope Hive part time. The very next day, a woman without this knowledge showed up at her workplace and said, “I dropped my daughter off and left, but God told me to turn around and come back to tell you that Kenya is calling. It’s time.”
So why Nakuru, Kenya?
Because God has confirmed it through prophecy, His presence, and through people. Because love took us there once and never let go. And because we believe there are children waiting to be seen, known, loved, and empowered to change their world.
